ABOUT CAROL ANN BAUER

Carol Ann Bauer, owner of and primary instructor at Phoenix Rising Internal Arts, is a certified and Yoga Alliance- registered E-500 level (Experienced 500-Hour) Yoga Teacher, a Certified Level 4 Instructor/Coach of Traditional Yang Style T’ai Chi, and a certified Stott Pilates™ instructor.

As part of her holistic approach to physical, mental, and spiritual training, Carol Ann teaches traditional Hatha Yoga based on the precision and alignment of Iyengar Yoga, spiced with the flavor of Kripalu Yoga, as a practice of personal transformation – a way to open the heart as well as the body, developing compassion, clarity and inner stillness. Carol Ann has a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Kripalu Yoga Center and a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Academy of Yoga. Carol Ann is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-500-hour (experienced professional) level and with the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She frequently travels to participate in continuing education classes and workshops with well-known Iyengar Yoga teachers, re-dedicating constantly to both education and practice.

Carol Ann is also a direct student of internationally acclaimed Master Yang Zhenduo, and is certified by the International Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Association to teach Traditional Yang Style T’ai Chi Chuan as it has been practiced for generations in China, where she trained personally with Master Yang. She has won numerous gold medals in Yang Style T’ai Chi Chuan, T’ai Chi Sword and Saber, in both national and international tournaments. She studies with Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming and Master Liang Shou-yu in the practice of Qigong.

A certified Stott Pilates™ instructor, she is a thorough and meticulous teacher of the Stott Pilates™ mat system of body conditioning, recognized internationally as the premiere training method for today’s popular Pilates programs. She finds that focusing on mat work exercise assists the student in feeling intimately in touch with and in control of his/her own body – and life.

Carol Ann brings to her arts a lifetime of training and devotion to movement. Beginning serious practice in the early 1960’s, she later studied with David Preston at T.C.U. and Robert Joffrey, Joffrey Ballet. She performed with Houston Jazz Ballet Company and Houston Contemporary Dance Theater, and taught ballet from the time she was 17. Carol Ann’s passion for the movement arts and her enthusiastic dedication to teaching will elevate your practice – body, mind and spirit -- to new levels.
